Burning rubber smell and check engine light with slight noise increase from belt area I have just had belt hoses water pump and timing chain replaced - Any Ideas?

i had the same work done to my car just now. timing chain hoses and water pump. and my belt was slipping and i had the burning rubber smell also. but no engine light. i changed the belt stopped slipping for a few days but the smell never left. and the belt slips again. im not sure what part of the car to place blame on. my next step is checking the pullys to see if theyre seizing or not.
