Yes! That's basically what the parking break is... a switch that turns it on and off.
You know that is illegal right? Yes but that was not the question. Is there a code or can a toggle be used? No there is no code it how it's wired up. Ground out the parking trigger wire on the head unit.
you have to hook it up to a basic toggle switch and ground it and when you turn it on you have to flip the switch a couple times,... you cant just ground it or it will show the blue screen
Try the toggle switch on the top of the steering column
So far (Nov. 2009) Dual has not released the permanent code for the 9101. The only thing you can do right now it the e-brake or a toggle switch. Happy motoring.
I haven't been able to do everything like that, but to bypass the starter switch, run a wire from the accessory fuse to a toggle switch, and then connect the switch to the 3rd bolt on the starter solenoid.
go to your local parts store and purchase a simple toggle switch. hook one end of the switch to a good ground and hook the wire for the parking brake from the radio to the switch. when you insert a DVD and get the blue screen turn the switch on then off then on again slowly and you will have video
I have a clarion unit and what i did was run the green brake wire to chassis ground, tap in a toggle switch by cutting the green wire & wiring the green wire to the toggle switch. When the clarion unit is on all you have to do is turn the switch off then on, and that will bypass the brake switch allowing to watch video moving or sitting. Mine works perfect.
Unfortunately the xdvd9101 has been built to were the bypass code doesn't work on it there are two options that you can choose from. 1. The toggle switch- Placed in line to fool the unit into thinking the car is in park done by flipping it on for 1 second then off and so on the unit should respond to it but it should work although you have to do this everytime you turn the car off. 2. Bypass module- Downside of this is it cost's a little extra but worth it in the long run for around $30 you can buy a bypass module that will make it so that the DVD player will always play no need to toggle or do anything besides hooking it up. I prefer the second method but it will cost extra then the cost of a toggle switch but the module is pretty straight forward takes 10 minutes to install

Toggle = back and forth, or on and off. A toggle switch toggles (turns) a light or other device on or off. Good example is a light switch (the wall kind)-- a toggle switch must also be of the "throw the stick back and forth" kind. Which a light switch basically is.
my ignition is broke and on the on position how can i bypass the ignition n use a toggle for power and a pushbutton to start run thik power wire from positive of battery to starter. then wire from starter to distributer. then run wire inside or vehicle to push start and ground it or run back out to battery to neg. put toggle switch some where in the process to kill it.
you can just use a toggle switch,,,you need a relay capable of the amps it takes for the starter.it would connect between the starter and the battery, then you would need a toggle switch preferably a momatary toggle switch to activate the relay.
