There are 3 types of engines. Inboard engines, outboard engines and sterndrive engines. Sterndrive engines are located in the hull near the stern, but have a small leg protruding through the stern for the propellor. There will be a rubber gasket sealing the outboard leg from the inside of the boat.

Unless it is a rechargeable battery you cannot charge a dry charge battery. If it is rechargeable you need to purchase a charger for that size battery. Automobile batteries are not dry charge.

The same way a car battery is charged, via alternators. An airplane can have up to eight extremely strong engines that can provide tremendous amount of torque for very strong alternators to charge the batteries.
A battery charges nothing it accepts a charge from the alternator.
