in an automatic, if you are going a long distance or the transmission has alot of miles on it, its better for it if you do disconnect it in a standard it doesnt matter
There isn't a driveshaft to disconnect. That vehicle is a front engine, front wheel drive layout. It uses a transaxle, which combines the transmission and differential into one package. You need to put the front axle on a dolly.
yes you could do that or to be really safe you can disconnect the drive shaft
Front wheels on the ground, rear wheels on a dolly or Modify the vehicle to have a electrical lube pump installed
yes, it will burn tranny up. if its not all wheel drive why can't you tow it from the rear
I was told by a Toyota dealer that I cannot dolly tow a car (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) with the drive wheels on the ground. So, a front wheel drive car can be on the dolly forward but a rear wheel drive would have to be backed on the dolly.
to tow a 1992 Geo Tracker you must either disconnect the drive shaft or use a tow dolly and tow it backwards or you will damage the transmission
if your towing it far away I would but usually just putting it in neutral you will be fine if not going too many miles.
Yes! Remove whatever is necessary to allow you to remove the oil pan.
It is not advisable to tow a full size pickup (or any other rear wheel drive vehicle) behind a motorhome, unless all 4 wheels are on a dolly. This can be acomplished though by a drive-shaft disconnect. These are quite expensive.
if you have removed rear drive shaft and the front wheels will be on tow dolly then there is no sense in it.
