Running lean usually refers to a condition where insufficient fuel reaches the combustion chamber. A clogged fuel filter could cause this. Swap it out for a new one before you ruin your spark plugs or, even worse, a fuel pump. Also, vacuum leaks can cause this condition. Go ahead and change the fuel filter since they are cheap and you will need to soon enough anyway. But, I think a vacuum leak is a more probable cause. Mention your car and engine type for better answers.
Perhaps a clogged fuel filter.
Assuming this vehicle is fuel injected, you may have a vacuum leak or a plugged fuel filter.
Fuel filter, fuel pump, or pressure bypass/relief valve is not providing the correct, enough fuel pressure at the injectors.
Put some fuel injector cleaner in a tank of fuel. Replace the fuel filter and fix any vacuum leaks.
Then the flow of fuel is impeded to the engine, and you'll notice the result... depending on the severity, your vehicle could be running lean, or not at all.
02 sensor or cat
If one bank is running lean it usually means that you have a vacuum leak somewhere on that side. Check for broken hoses that connect to that side or possibly broken gaskets. changed all hoses what gasket
a fuel filter can cause a sluggish running symptom, but it typically doesn't cause excessive fuel consumption.if you are going to change the fuel filter, it is located under the vehicle near the fuel tank. But your problem sounds like it could be more complicated.IMPORTANT! If your going to change your fuel filter, remember to release and remove the gas cap to your gas tank.answersounds very similar to a problem i had, the car would idle rough and stall as soon as you hit the gas would also run very sluggish if you got it moving found out it was a clogged fuel filteralso, as stated in this question i did notice the car used a large amont of gas during this time (even tho it was running lean)
o2 sensor out of range, misfire if running rough, too lean injector , fuel filter???
If your Honda CRX is running too lean, you can address the issue by checking and adjusting the fuel pressure. Start by inspecting the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel injectors for any clogs or malfunctions. If those components are functioning properly, you may need to adjust the fuel pressure regulator to ensure it provides adequate pressure. Additionally, consider checking for vacuum leaks and ensuring that the engine management system is functioning correctly, as these factors can also contribute to a lean condition.
It's lean. Referred to as lack of fuel. Either intake leaks, clogged injectors, old fuel filter, worn out 02 sensors, fuel pump/wiring or inadequate fuel system. Lots of things can cause this condition.
loss of power, stalling, no start and a code for lean fuel trim
