With out make model and year of the car this question can not be answered.
the pressure switch sends a signal to the ecm[computer] when you turn to increase engine rpm a small amount to make up for power loss.
i do believe it is the ecm/computer
The Electronic Control Module, it gets power from the battery and sends power to everything, etc. the fuel pump relay, to kick the fuel pump on for two seconds prior to turning the engine on.
Yes.
The ECM powers the fuel pump relay
There is no fuel pump fuse on an S10, it gets its power through one of the ecm fuses
There is a sensor on the power steering pressure hose that tells the ECM when the pressure increases which is an indication that you are turning the wheel. When the pressure goes up the ECM automatically increases the idle speed to compensate. If the pressure sensor fails then the ECM doesn't know you turned the wheels so it doesn't boost the idle speed and the engine may stall. So check the power steering pressure sensor.
3.8L Engine See Figure 9 Fig. 9: Power steering pump mounting-3.8L engine # Disconnect the negative battery cable. # Remove the coolant recovery reservoir and bracket. # Unfasten the ECM retaining nuts, then remove the cover. # Remove the serpentine belt from the pulleys by loosening the automatic belt tensioner as outlined in Routine Maintenance of this repair guide. # Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the pump. # Unfasten the pump mounting bolts, then remove the pump and reservoir. # Using a suitable prybar, remove the retaining clips from the reservoir, then separate the reservoir from the pump. # Remove the pump pulley using a power steering pump pulley removing tool J-25034-B or equivalent. To install: # Install the reservoir to the pump with a new O-ring seal and install the retaining clip. Make sure the tabs are fully engaged on the pump. # Install the pulley to the power steering pump. # Install the pump and retaining bolts. Tighten the retaining bolts to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm). # Connect the inlet and outlet hoses to the pump. # Install the serpentine drive belt. # Install the ECM cover and secure with the retaining nuts. # Connect the negative battery cable. # Fill and bleed the power steering system as outlined later in this information. # Allow the engine to warm up, road test the vehicle and recheck the fluid level. # Check the system for leaks, road test and recheck the fluid level.
Do you mean ecm or pcm? If so it stands for engine control module or power control module.
Fuel pressure from the fuel pump and a signal from the ECM (Engine Control Module) to open.
If you are speaking of the PCM(Power Control Module) or ECM(Engine Control Module, it is located in the inside middle of the dash. There is also a ECM relay in the underhood fuse box.
ecm stands for electronic control module
