As you did before, you will have to have the trouble codes read again.
It's possible the same problem has come back - in that case the mechanic who did the original work, is who you turn to next.
But - it well could be a different problem.
Have the codes read again...
The crank position sensor on a 2001 Ford Windstar van is located on the bottom of the engine. It constantly monitors the engine's crankshaft and reports information to the computer.
On top of the cam sensor synchronizer which is sticking out of the top of the timing cover on the front of the engine.

TPS IS THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
On a 1998 Ford Windstar : The Mass Air Flow sensor is between the top section of the engine air filter housing and the engine air intake tube
To replace the crankshaft position sensor on a 2002 Ford Windstar, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Locate the sensor, which is typically found near the bottom of the engine, near the crankshaft pulley. Remove any necessary components for access, then disconnect the electrical connector and remove the mounting bolt to take out the old sensor. Install the new sensor, reconnect everything, and reattach the battery.
The Windstar most likely has a part that is breaking down when it heats up. Check the ignition coil and crank position sensor to start trying to find the problem.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but on a 1998 Ford Ranger 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine : I believe the crankshaft position sensor is at the front of the engine When standing in front of the vehicle looking into the engine compartment it is just to the left of the crankshaft damper near the bottom of the engine
is the crankshaft position sensor the same and the engine speed sensor
I'm not a mechanic / technician but from what I have read : The camshaft position sensor on top of the camshaft position synchronizer on the Ford 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine , is on top of the engine , near the center line , at the back of the engine near the firewall * apparently you can't see it until the upper intake manifold is removed
I'm not a mechanic / technician but from what I understand the camshaft position sensor on the Ford 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine is on the top of the engine , at the REAR of the engine , near the firewall . You won't be able to see it ( at least I can't on my 1995 Ford EXPLORER , which also has the 4.0 , EFI engine )
On a 2002 Ford Windstar , 3.8 liter V6 engine : The Mass Air Flow sensor is between the cone shaped engine air filter and the engine air intake tube . It is INSIDE a round shaped plastic housing
