Then have someone to turn the key on and you listen, Pump should run for 3 seconds then stop. If it's working you will here it.

When you replaced the fuel pump did you replace the short fuel line from the pump to sending unit? I didn't when I replaced the fuel pump on my 94 Safari and I had that problem. Also check to see if the pump is running when you turn the key on it should run for a few seconds. If pump works replace fuel filter. If still no luck check the fuel pressure. It should be around 80 to 100 psi.
