They did not use a 700R4 in 2000 model. It would be a 4L60E.
Need to know the year.
I guess you can if you want. But I don't know WHY you would want to. the 700R4 is a MUCH better transmission. If you change, your fuel milage will be WORSE and the Engine will turn more RPMs. ( Hard on engine )
I don't know about the V6 transmission ar any of the manual transmissions, but the automatic V8 (305 or 350) camaros came with a 700R4.
It's most likely got a 700R4. One way to find out would be to check into getting a transmission pan gasket, and the parts store will want to know how many bolts are in the pan and what the pan is shaped like. Then, you will know which tranny is in there.
It's not shifting into neutral, the 3rd gear "drive" band is slipping. Time for rebuild.
The stock 5L Caprice comes with a 700r4 transmission so no upgrade would be needed. VBdenny **funny, cuz mine doesnt. 4L60 and i think its pretty WEAK! Does anyone who knows what they're talking about know about this problem? i need a strong-BAD-ASS Auto-tranny that wont let me down- for $$CHEAP$$ inexpensive, im not rich! that's why I drive a 92 Caprice Station Wagon!!! "What parts/components/Transmission do i need to UPgrade my tranny?" Thanks Ken D. The 4L60 is the newer name for the 700R4. It's the same transmission. The 700R4/4L60/4L60E are all weak transmissions, especially the 4th gear clutchpack. If you upgrade transmissions, you should purchase a large transmission cooler. This will lengthen the life of the tranny.
No, the electrical plug-ins for a 700R4 and a 4L60E transmission are not the same. While both transmissions are electronically controlled, they have different wiring harness connectors and pin configurations. It is important to use the correct wiring harness for each transmission to ensure proper function.
i need to know what year to correctly answer you, there are 2 possibilities
To determine if your wheel bearings are installed correctly, listen for any unusual noises such as grinding or humming while driving, which may indicate improper installation. Additionally, check for excessive play or movement in the wheel by shaking it; if there's noticeable lateral or vertical movement, the bearings may not be seated properly. Finally, inspect for any signs of leaking grease or wear after installation, as these can also indicate issues with the bearing fit.
To determine if a 700R4 transmission is in park, check the gear selector position; the lever should be fully engaged in the "P" (Park) position. You can also turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine; the vehicle should not roll if it's truly in park. Additionally, you can try to manually shift the transmission lever; it should not move out of the "P" position unless the brake pedal is pressed. Lastly, when the ignition is turned to the "On" position, the engine should not start if properly in park.
We need to know which bearings you speak of, there are many.
