To adjust the tension pulley on a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the tensioner pulley, which is typically near the serpentine belt. Use a wrench or socket to turn the tensioner bolt counterclockwise to relieve tension on the belt, then adjust the pulley as needed. Once adjusted, make sure the belt is properly aligned and retighten the tensioner bolt to secure it.
To adjust the AC belt tension on a 1991 Dodge Stealth, first, locate the tensioner pulley. Loosen the tensioner bolt and use a wrench to rotate the tensioner, which will relieve tension on the belt. Adjust the tension by moving the tensioner until the belt is snug, then tighten the tensioner bolt securely. Finally, check the belt for proper alignment and tension before starting the engine.
To loosen a tension pulley on a 1991 Chrysler New Yorker, turn the nut in the center of the pulley. This will allow the pulley to slide in the cut-out groove so that the belt will loosen.
Automatic tensioner-no provision for adjustment.
No I don't think so.
In order for you to change your water pump, mine is a 1991 cavalier and I had to take everything apart. I first started with the altanator, then you have to take off or loosen the power steering pump in order to take off the tensionor pulley that is a big alluminum plate with the tension pulley bolted to the head in order to access the bolts to the water pump. Its a pain, you just have to have patients, (TIP) in order to loosen the powersteering pump the bolts are inside the pulley, it has holes in the middle of it and you have to rotate the pulley to get to the bolts.
To install the power steering belt on a 1991 Mazda Miata, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Loosen the tensioner bolt and the mounting bolts for the power steering pump to allow adjustment. Place the new belt around the power steering pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley, then adjust the pump to achieve proper tension. Finally, tighten the tensioner and mounting bolts, ensuring the belt is secure and has the appropriate tension.
To tension the fan belt on a 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, first, locate the tensioner pulley and loosen the adjusting bolt. Then, adjust the tensioner until the belt has approximately 1/2 inch of deflection when pressed down in the middle. Once the desired tension is achieved, tighten the adjusting bolt securely. Finally, check the alignment of the belt on the pulleys to ensure proper operation.
The 1.6L engine has a single cam pulley, a water pump pulley used to tension the timing belt, and a crankshaft pulley. The pulleys are concealed by a plastic cover with a rubber seal.
The pulley that is not an actual device, but a lone pulley is the tensioner. It keeps tension on the belt so it will not slip. You did not mention an alternator, there should be one.
The tension belt for a 1991 Honda Civic and located on the driver side of the engine. The pulley is right above the compressor.
You don't. A 1991 Cavalier did not come with airbags.
To change the alternator belt on a 1991 Ford Festiva, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Loosen the tensioner bolt and adjust the tensioner to release tension on the belt. Remove the old belt by sliding it off the alternator pulley, then install the new belt, ensuring it is properly seated on all pulleys. Finally, adjust the tension and tighten the tensioner bolt before starting the engine to check for proper operation.
