To adjust a 2-barrel carburetor on a Chevy 305 V8, first ensure the engine is at operating temperature. Adjust the idle speed screw to set the idle RPM to the desired level, typically around 600-800 RPM in gear. Next, fine-tune the air-fuel mixture by turning the mixture screws on each barrel until you achieve the highest smooth idle, then back them off slightly to enrich the mixture. Finally, double-check the adjustments by revving the engine and ensuring it responds smoothly without stalling.

Finally, check for smooth acceleration and make minor adjustments as necessary. Always refer to the service manual for specific tuning guidelines and specifications.
