To replace the knock sensor on a 1999 Lexus RX300, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts. Then, remove the intake manifold for better access to the knock sensor located on the engine block. Disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor, unscrew it using the appropriate socket, and install the new sensor by reversing the process. Finally, reassemble the intake manifold, reconnect the battery, and check for any error codes.
