Remove the screws or clips that secure the primer bulb assembly to the carburetor and carefully detach the old bulb. Install the new primer bulb by pushing it into the housing, ensuring a snug fit, and then reattach any screws or clips. Finally, test the bulb by pressing it to ensure it primes the carburetor properly.

Yes, you should prime the engine after your snowblower runs out of gas, especially if it has a primer bulb. Priming helps to draw fuel into the carburetor, making it easier to start the engine again. After running out of gas, it’s important to refill the tank with fresh fuel and allow the primer bulb to fill the carburetor before attempting to start the snowblower. This ensures proper fuel flow and smooth operation.
To replace the fuel lines and primer bulb on a Snapper S31SST, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Disconnect the old fuel lines from the carburetor and fuel tank, taking note of their routing. Remove the old primer bulb by detaching it from the lines and install the new bulb, ensuring proper orientation for fuel flow. Finally, attach the new fuel lines, ensuring they are secure and free of kinks, and reconnect everything before testing for leaks.
