There is a fuse panel under the hood or under the dashboard. The cover should have a diagram of the fuses. Alternatively, you can replace all the broken fuses with the correct fuse.

2004 Malibu has fuse box in the trunk. You will find the tail light fuse in there. 10 Amp fuse all the way to the rear, just under a much larger fuse.

check your fuse box under the dash. on the cover, or on a nearby sticker, it will indicate which fuses do what. replace whatever fuse says REAR lights, TAIL, ETC.
what is the number for the fuse to change the rear license plate light. and is it the fuse box under the back seat or under the hood? The plate light is protected by the parking/tail light circuit.
The tail light fuse is located in the fuse box which is located in the glove compartment. The tail light fuse will be a red wire.
The dash light fuse gets its power from the tail light fuse. If the tail light fuse blows, you won't have any dash lights either.
The 2007 Chevrolet Malibu tail light fuse can be found in the fuse box. The tail light fuse will be in the second column, third from the top.
Look in your owners manual if you have it and if you don't ask your Chevy parts man to print out the fusebox diagram for you.
