disconnect the hose from the clutch master cylinder on the firewall. I has a little retaining pin in it use a nail or something small to push it out then you can drop the tranny with a 4 foot line connected to it once you see the slave cylinder you can disconnect the hose the same way the hose was connected to the clutch master cylinder I learned this when I had to replance my slave cylinder

there is no clutch cable. it has a hydraulic clutch. there will be a clutch master cylinder on the firewall near the brake M/C. a hydraulic hose will connect that to the clutch slave cylinder on or near the tranny. the slave cylinder pushes on a fork (lever) that disengages the clutch.

There isn't any linkage, it has a cable, check to see if the cable is loose. There is a U clip that holds the cable in place,if the U clip is in place and there isn't any slack in the cable, it could be your tranny. Is the clutch disengaging? If when you push the clutch in the engine can be turned over or the car can be pushed, it is not a problem with the clutch.
The adjustment is made on the clutch cable, near where it connects to the tranny.

On the 03 Rio there is a cable clutch. No fluid. To adjust it, just twist the nut above the tranny where the cable hooks. Once you see it, you will know what I'm refering to.
First, the clutch cable is self adjusting, don't pull on the clutch cable housing to remove it from the dash panel, the self adjuster may be damaged. Remove the power distribution center and the transaxle cover. Pull back on the clutch cable housing and disconnect the cable. Pull the cable from the slot in the transaxle and disconnect the cable from the release lever. Push in the clutch cable and remove the cable from the pedal. Pull the cable from the dash using a slight twisting motion. Installation is the reverse proceedure. You may want to get a manual for all the 8x10 glossy photos and stuff.
To remove the fan clutch on a Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax, first, disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the fan shroud for better access. Use a special fan clutch tool to hold the water pump pulley in place, then turn the fan clutch counterclockwise to unscrew it from the water pump. Once removed, carefully lift the fan assembly out of the engine bay. Remember to replace any gaskets or seals when reinstalling the new fan clutch.
