To replace the brake light on a 2000 Mercury Villager Sport, first, open the rear hatch and locate the tail light assembly. Remove the screws or clips holding the tail light in place, then gently pull the assembly out. Disconnect the wiring harness and twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it. Replace the old bulb with a new one, reassemble the tail light, and test the new brake light to ensure it works.
Just unscrew the rear brake light, turn out the socket, and replace the bulb.
Should be located at the upper end of brake pedal under dash area

I have a 2006 lincoln ls sport in which the 3rd brake light cover isn't connected properly. When I drive I can see out of my mirror that it's moving. Is there a way to keep it from moving?
dash light and back light on my Montero sport went out and keeps blowing fuses. why
Check your brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your engine compartment when it is low your brake warning light will come on
almost out of brake fluid, check this immediately.
take the three or 4 Phillips screws out of the taillight, remove the light assembly and replace the bulb......all with the tailgate up of course.....
under the dash in the fuse box
The third brake light cover just has two screws that have to be removed. Then you can pull the unit out and turn the light socket to remove it from the cover. Pull the bulb straight out of the holder and replace. On the side lights you have to open the tail gate and remove the screws on the inside of the doorjam. After that the lens pulls straight out(like your light is backing away from your van.)There are three pins in rubber sockets that hold the lens in place and prevents raddles. The pins just pop in and out but can fight you a little, just be careful to not break the pins off. Once the cover is off, twist off the desired socket and pull the bulb out, replace the bulb and reinstall the cover. Hope this helps. -JB
