depends for what kind of vehical. IF it's a car, the axle is likely easy to do. IF it is a 4x4 truck with manual locking hubs, it's a lame job.
if its a car, jack it up on the side the axel needs to come out , take the tire off, and everything else in the way including your brake. and slide the axle joint out , just take the whole thing out, its garbage now. Take the new one you bought. slide it in with grease and start putting it all back together.
IF its a truck with manual locking hubs, you will want to jack it up with the tire off faswell, take the brakes off, and make sure you do not lose any of the bearings.. clipps.. spacers.. rings.. any of it, and remember the order you took them off in, as it is important to do so. once that stuff is all removed you have acces to your broken axel assuming it's broken at the UJOInt which is more common, slide it out, take the axel to a mechanic and have the ujoint compressed to come out. buy a new ujoint of the same model, have it pressed back in place of the axel, take the axel back home and slide it back into the front differential, and start putting everything back together!
Give it to sean
you have to start by pulling out the driver side then dropping the pod out of the center of the Dana 27 to take out the c clip then the axle should pull right out
On top of the driver side frame rail, between the front axle and the firewall. (Closer to the front axle.)
To replace a driver's side front axle, first, lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the wheel and brake components to access the axle. Disconnect the axle from the wheel hub and the transmission, typically by removing retaining bolts and using a pry bar if necessary. Finally, install the new axle by reversing the disassembly steps, ensuring all connections are secure before lowering the vehicle.
yes
Cause it is a front wheel drive vehicle.?
It depends on what model of car. There is a different proceedure for front wheel drive compared to rear wheel drive and a different proceedure for front and rear bearings.
To replace the left side CV axle on a 1999 Plymouth Breeze, start by safely lifting the car and removing the front wheel on the driver's side. Disconnect the lower ball joint and the tie rod end to gain access to the CV axle. Remove the axle nut and then slide the axle out of the transmission and the wheel hub. Finally, install the new CV axle by reversing the disassembly steps, ensuring all components are securely reattached.
It is under the van, driver side, in front of the axle.
do you have it all apart? The spindle removed from the nuckle? on the driver's side pull harder. The use of a prybar or large screwdriver might help. On the passenger side remove one of the metal clamps on the rubber boot in the middle if the axle an replace it when you are done.
The axle on the driver side of the vehicle.
i believe on v6 its on passenger side and v8 is on driver side above front axle.
