Write the date and mileage on a small sticker and cover the light with it.
A person can reset the service engine light in a 1998 Tahoe by disconnecting the battery cables for 1 minute. After the battery cables are reconnected, the light should turn itself off.
Clear all PCM codes.
Try turning the key to "on" position without engine running and push accelerator to the floor 6 times
Change engine oil, or check oil indicator?
on your 2001 Tahoe the change oil light is tripped by a sensor in the main frame computer. my suggestion is to take it to your nearest dealership and have then reset it . this should solve your problem Turn ignition on but don't start, press gas pedal to floor three times. This should do it.
After repairing the cause of the code, you clear the code with a scan tool.
Turn key on ( do not start ) then push the gas pedal all the way down 3 times and then turn key off and then start the engine.
To reset the engine light on a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, you can use an OBD-II scanner to read and clear any trouble codes. Alternatively, you can disconnect the battery by removing the negative terminal for about 15 minutes, then reconnect it. This may reset the engine light, but it’s important to address any underlying issues that caused the light to illuminate in the first place. Always consult a mechanic if you're unsure about the cause of the warning light.
To reset the check engine light on a Chevy Tahoe, you can disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 10-15 minutes, which will clear the system's memory. Alternatively, you can use an OBD-II scanner to read the trouble codes and clear them, resetting the light. However, it’s important to address the underlying issue that triggered the check engine light before resetting it to avoid reoccurrence.
THE EASIEST WAY TO DO IT YOURSELF IS TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY. iF YOU DO HAVE A PROBLEM THOUGH, THE LIGHT WILL COME BACK ON.
Turn key on ( do not start ) then push the gas pedal all the way down 3 times and then turn key off and then start the engine.
That requires an engine scanner but it will not do any good to reset it if you don't FIX the PROBLEM that made it come on in the first place. It will just come back on again. Need to have engine scaned to see what is wrong.
