To reset the alarm system on your BMW after a battery died, first replace the battery with a new one. Then, use your key fob to unlock the car, which should help reset the alarm. If the alarm continues to trigger, you may need to start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. If issues persist, consult your owner's manual or a professional for further assistance.
I have a Honda Civic and the battery died, so i hade to jumpstart it and the alarm went off. The alarm went off because the security system that protects against robbers ext. But in my case, I had to put a master key into the ignition to stop the alarm.
To reset the 'Service 4-Wheel Drive' light on a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer after a battery died, you can try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 10-15 minutes, then reconnect it. This can sometimes reset the system and clear the warning light. If the light remains on, you may need to use an OBD-II scanner to check for any diagnostic trouble codes and clear them. If issues persist, consult a professional mechanic for further diagnosis.
Your theft lock system was tripped when your battery died. ( it happens because it thinks that it was removed from your vehicle) research google and you can find the unlocking steps. You most likely need to take it into a dealer and have them reset it
We had this same problem on our 1998 Toyota Sienna; one dealer wanted $400 to replace the computer module inside the dash and another dealer quoted us $200. They also tried to "reset" the module but said it was "bad." However, last month our battery died and it was 6 years old so time to get a new one. After install of new battery, suddenly my automatic locks starting working again at ignition, so I tried my remote keyless entry fob and VOILA--keyless entry now works! I'm guessing the system reset on its own with the loss of power. SO--try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes. This may reset your keyless entry as well. Best wishes! ~K. Gollnick
The time would only "reset" if the clock battery on th motherboard has died. Replacing the battery should eliminate the problem.
Something may have gone wrong with the alarm so try cutting power to the alarm by pulling the fuse and see if things go back to normal.
the battery died in my remote. After replacing it the auto start will not work. What are the steps I need to take to reprogram it??
Our's did it twice. When we first moved in, it started beeping. It was because the alarm could not contact the central office, due to the phone line switch over. The second time it happened, it was because the backup battery died. Hope this helps. I had that happen when the wiring between the alarm panel and the keypad went bad. But also did happen too when the battery went bad. The battery is easy to replace and Radio Shack sells them. My battery went bad after 4 years.
AnswerI installed a new battery in my 2008 Escape after I accidentally left the lights on all day and it died. Now my radio doesn't work and some of the things that used to light up don't. I don't know what the problem is, but I do know that it's directly related to the new battery. So to answer your question - it definitely might.
Recharge, replace, test charging system.
The vehicle may have to complete a relearn cycle which can take a couple hundred miles.
One - the radio runs off the battery. Two - if the battery has been replaced, during the time it wad out of the car all its memory was lost. You may have to reset it from scratch. Three - it's a coincidence.
