Take the drive belt off. Get a pulley removal tool and take the Power Steering pulley off. Disconnect hoses from the back of pump. Take support bracket off back of pump remove four bolts that are visible once you remove the pulley
Answerwell if it is in a 95 you have to take off the coil pack then the power steering pump then take of the bolts on the water pump
It can be done but it is not worth the trouble as you will have to take the steering rake out and fit a power steering pump and resivoir it is not worth the trouble as you will have to change the rake and fit a steering pump and resivoir
u take the old power steering pump out, and put the new one in :D
disconnect the battery, losen the tensioner, take the belt out, then unscrew the power steering pump...then work in reverse....done
It's located under the power steering pump. In order to get to it you have to take the power steering pump off.
I'm sure you can do it and there is a belt out there that will fit but you will have to take a piece of rope and route it on the pulleys like the factory diagraphm minus the power steering pulley and then measure the length of the piece of rope and try to find a serpentine belt that size.
Take the car to a mechanic.
you will have to use a rope and run it around all the pulleys according to your diagram but skip the power steering pulley and then take it back out and measure the length you need and go to the parts store and see if they can come up with a belt that size.
You have to loosen the power steering pump bolts and push down on the pump and the belt will loosen to take it off, to put it back on you route the belt over the pulleys and pull up on the steering pump and when tight tighten the pump bolts and your done.
the thermostat this locator on the passenger side.under the exhaust manifold and the power steering pump. you have to remove the power steering pump to take it off. the power steering pump has a trick. the bottom bolts can be removed without removing the sensor. you use a 10 millimeter wrench to break the bolt. and then you start twisting out and pulling the power steering pump out at the same time
It will take approximately 1.5 hours to replace the power steering pump in your 2000 Dodge Durango. The exact amount of time will depend upon the person that is doing the repair.
I answered this one myself. You have to get a power steering puller, pull the pully off from the pump and take the pump out of the bracket, than you can get to the bolts that hold the steel bracket to the back of the pump. I could not find any short cuts except to take the whole thing apart, just like replacing the power steering pump.
