First step might be checking the vacuum lines in the engine bay. If the cruise control unit does not get vacuum it will not work. The fuse for the cruise control on a 1998 Plymouth Breeze is located in the fuse box on the driver's side of the interior. It is located just above the brake pedal.
To troubleshoot the cruise control on a 1998 Ford F-150, first check the fuse related to the cruise control system in the fuse box. Next, inspect the brake pedal switch, as a faulty switch can disable cruise control when the brakes are pressed. Additionally, examine the throttle cable for any signs of wear or binding, and ensure that the cruise control module connections are secure. If the issue persists, consider using a diagnostic scanner to check for any error codes related to the system.
