I had the same problem on my Dodge truck. Usually after about 500-1000 miles the light went away. I have a 2005 Corolla with the same problem. I've changed the oil many times and driven thousands of miles but it doesn't go off. I even disconnected the battery cable to see if that would reset it but it didn't. I'd love to know the answer, too. to do it the RIGHT way. with the car key on ACC, set your odometer on mileage(not trip a or b) then turn ket off. then hold they button that switchs from odo and trip, then turn the key back to acc. while you are holding it down you will notice the maintenance light blink and go out. and then you are done. now that wasn't hard now was it?
