It depends on the type of vehicle. Need to know the make and model and year. Different vehicles have different problems with ignitions.
some do but other dont
dont know but it sounds like something to do with a steering wheel why dont you research it?
i dont really know which steering wheel do you have
you dont
you dont let a pro do it
some models dont tilt... mine doesnt
if you had the problem i had it wasnt the lock cylinderr but the ignition itself, replace your ignition and you may find that is it. I found that when i unbolted the steering wheel and dropped it down i could get a set of needle nose pliers in and push on the rod which unlocked the ignition. i rebolted the steering got a steering wheeel puller, you need one so you dont kill yourself. theres a spring behind the lock pin . so be careful take your time and good luck,,,,later
i think this one is simple if you dont have a puller for the job you should not be trying very dumb since the old cars are the easiest to work on once you take the horn ring off and the big nut off the shaft you'll need a wheel puller to pull the wheel off.
this is not something you want to do if you are not exp. you can air bag components in steering wheel if you dont get it just right
You need to undo the two locking pins on the side, then take the steering wheel off, only in a straight angle. Dont forget to remove the casing aroung the steering column
Behind the steering wheel, their is three screws that need to come off, then you can take off front cover of steering wheel, you will need a steering wheel removal tool to get wheel off,be careful there are two inch long springs that go to the horn, dont lose them or your horn wont work.
Check the electrical ignition switch on the bottom of the steering column.
