You don't need to wait. As soon as everything is sealed up you can pour in the coolant mix.
Standard antifreeze should be changed every two years. Long life antifreeze needs changing every five years.
After changing the RO filter, you should run water for about 5-10 minutes to flush out any air bubbles and ensure the filter is working properly.
Figure 24 hrs, changing the water every 8
Modern coolants last a long time. I would however drain and replace the coolant every 5 years. Be sure and create a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water. Do not use tap water.
Your 50 / 50 mixture of antifreeze and preferably distilled water should be right near the top of the radiator ( as long as you can put the cap on without the antifreeze mixture overflowing ) The plastic coolant reservoir in the passenger side of the engine compartment has a cold mark on it , just maintain your coolant level up to the cold mark when the engine is cold . ( Ford recommends to not drop below 40 % antifreeze and not exceed 60 % antifreeze in your engine coolant mixture )
You should use the correct antifreeze as listed in your owner's manual. There is 3 types of antifreeze, Ethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, and HOAT antifreeze. These will be of a different color. Green, orange, yellow and possibly others. Don't rely of the color. Never mix these together. In your Honda, which uses long life antifreeze, either use Honda or use Zerez Asian Vehicle coolant. Avoid universal coolants that claim to meet all specifications. Also mix your antifreeze with distilled water and not tap water. To be absolutely sure just buy Honda Antifreeze and you will know it is the correct coolant. It will cost very little more.
you have a head gasket leak and you are burning water or antifreeze. Probably correct. The exhaust should smell sweet. Nothing else smells like antifreeze. A cheap fix that I have used many times on a lot of different cars. There are several different brands of radiator sealers that have copper in them. Old generic name was Liquid Glass. Follow the instructions and it should fix the problem as long as the only place water is going is the exhaust. If it is getting in the oil, this won't work. The oil will look like chocolate milk if it has oil in it.
it has long life antifreeze from new the coolant system holds 8.3 litres if you put 3 litres of antifreeze in and the rest in water it will be ok might have a bleed screw on thermast houseing hope his helps Shane
long life
As long as the engine didn't overheat you should be O.K.
Yes as long as it is mixed 50-50 with coolant/antifreeze.
long life antifreeze coolant or and equivalent
