To check the Transmission Fluid on a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is warmed up. Open the hood and locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually near the back of the engine bay. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then remove it again to check the fluid level; it should be within the marked range. If the fluid is low or dirty, consider adding the appropriate type of transmission fluid or consulting a mechanic for further assistance.
its a seeled tranny you can check it and you cant you can check it because theres a plug on the side of the tranny you take that out and you can check it that way if its dripping out then its full you cant check it because theres no dipstick
If it uses the same transmission as the 5.7, then you don't check it (NO KIDDING) it's designed to go 100,000 miles and MUST be service by Toyota. That's who there is NO dipstick for the tranny.

You DON'T. If you try you will have to tow it back to the dealer. Did you notice that it has no tranny dipstick? that's because it's designed to go 100,000 miles on the tranny before the service is required. Special tools are needed to service the tranny. Do your self a favor go to a Toyota dealer and let them do it.
