Totally up to you. it is only necessary to replace which ever one is giving you a problem. The only time i might recommend doing both would be if the y were both behind the timing belt and the sensors were known to go bad often.
No, only the failed one.
All Northstars have 2 crank sensors, there are located just to the side of the oil filter adapter & behind the front motor mount. I strongly you forget about figuring out which one is sensor A & which is sensor B. Replace both! 93-99 are the same part number for both sensors & are interchangeable. 2000+ have 2 different part numbers for each sensor & are not interchangeable with the 93-99 sensor.
I have a 92 PA and had to replace the crank and cam sensors. Either will cause the same result. The error code will determine which is bad. The car will run, but as the engine heats up, the engine will die. It will start again after it cools off. The computer needs both signals to know when to send a fire signal to the correct spark plug.
there are 2 sensors on this model one located on the fron pipe and one on top of the manifold you replace them both the same disconect the sensors wire and it will be a 22 or 24 mm nut replace the same way as you took it out.
There are two knock sensors on a 2001 Chevy 1500 with the 5.3 V8. You have to remove the intake manifold, because both of them are located under it. it is best to replace both knock sensors at one time, and you will need an intake manifold gasket too. cant quite tell if you want to know about the cam or crank , is it 2ltr 16v or diesel, also if crank was it the front/rear/both and is it an auto
You would need to remove the window regulator, and the motor. Replace them both and drill a hold through your door panel where the crank will come out.
Crank and or Cam sensors may be bad. I would Buy both and try the Crank sensor first.
if you replaced the spindle and it wont crank then you forgot to plug the speed sensor back in plug it in and u should be good if not the wire got pinched or damaged in the wreck both left and right sensors have to be pluged in to be able to stat it
The crank sensor is located behind the Harmonic balancer. Try not to break the rubber within the Harmonic balancer when removing or on the safe side replace both the Crank sensor and the Harmonic balancer ( the big pulley on the bottom - most part of the engine.)
Yea you can but you will have to swap the inlet manifold with wiring harness off the ej25 and also the crank and cam Sensors
See related links for a DIY, but if you decide to replace this on your own, I would suggest replacing both O2 sensors, not just one of them. They are located on either side of the catalytic converter.
