Mainly GM produced them. Hydromatic transmissions were first offered in Olds, Cadillacs and GMC trucks in the late 40's early 50's. They became the transmission of choice in the '60's when B&M began modifying them for use in drag racing. This is the transmission that began it all for B&M and propelled all of the most popular gassers of the '60's.
