It's kind of hard to troubleshoot your starting problems since there is more than a battery inolved in starting an engine. There could be several issues involved, but without the symptoms it is difficult to pinpoint one. You might want to check the fuel system to see if the engine is getting fuel; the electrical system to ensure the spark plugs are firing; the ignition system to ensure there are no loose/broken wires, etc.- You get the point why it is difficult to troubleshoot without the symptoms. "The Jeep still won't start" is not enough information.
That could be the alternator or the battery. Try jump starting your car with another car's battery. If it still does not start, it is probably the alternator. If it starts, your battery is dead.
Check for fuel and spark to the cylinders
two very good possibilities are the battery, and the starter. its easy to test, just try to jump start it. if it still just clicks it needs a starter. if it starts its probably the battery.
It can start with just one battery.
If the alternator is bad the car will still start. You just need a fully charged battery. Once running then you can check the charge rate from the battery with a volt meter.
Check the wire from the battery to the body and from the battery/body to the engine block.
You can start it by using the pull cord, just be sure the key is in the ON position.
it could be the starter or it could just be a bad battery, try to jump start the vehicle with another vehicle with jumper cables or a jumpbox, if the vehicle starts, most likely it is the battery. It is still a good idea to get the starter checked out.
turn the key? no start? check the battery connections. clean them make sure they are tight turn the key no start? turn on the headlights if you have bright headlights, the starter may be the issue. if you have no headlights, look at charging the battery after battery charge turn the key tries to start or clicks probably a dead battery if the car turns over and just won't start do you have gas? If the car turns over and tries to start that means the battery and starter are good now you need to find out why you are not either getting spark of fuel.
You may have a weak or dead battery.
If you lost power while driving and it did not start again, it could be an alternator issue. Double check the battery just to make certain it isn't an issue with the cable connectors too.
Just connect the battery to the motorcycle battery cables with jumper cables and then start it.
