For a 1977 Pontiac Formula, the steering wheel is typically a sport-style wheel that features a three-spoke design, often upholstered with vinyl or leather. Original wheels from that era may also have a woodgrain finish. If you're looking to replace or restore it, consider sourcing from classic car parts suppliers or forums specializing in Pontiac restorations to ensure authenticity and proper fit. Additionally, aftermarket options are available if you're looking for a custom or upgraded design.
Remove horn ring, remove steering wheel, get steering wheel puller from Auto Zone rental program, remove big nut using wrench, then pull off piece behind steering wheel with wheel puller. Remove turn signal switch, then it's a little fuzzy from there (I'm working on the same thing now with a '73 Challenger.) Eric
Usually, the fuse that the horn is on is used for several devices, so you have to read the fusebox layout very carefully to find the correct one. A common failure for horns is the switch on the steering wheel. You will have to partially disassemble the steering wheel to find connector for horn. If it is not in contact with metal ring, horn will not activate.
Yes. '71 was still a Pontiac block. I think '77 trans am's were the last to receive Pontiac blocks.

There were two firebirds used: a 77 and 78. The 78 was a gold SE replicated to match the original 77.
