Toggle switch with LED should have 3 terminals wire LED termimal to the opposite to which is being switched i.e.

if you are switching ground then wire hot to illumination terminal

Unfortunately this will not work for illuminating the LED. LEDs are diodes and only allow electricity to flow one way and won't light up like an incandescent bulb.

What are positive ground cars?

Cars in which the positive terminal of the battery is connected to the chassis. They require specially designed components built for positive ground cars. The usual configuration is a negative ground (the negative battery terminal connected to the car's chassis).

How do you know if a car has a negative or positive grounded battery?

Find the cable that is connected directly to the frame or sub-frame of the car. If it is red, then Positive is ground; If it is black, then Negative is ground. More than likely (but not in all cases) the electrical system is Negative ground.

How can you tell if your Massey Ferguson 35 is positive or negative earth?

The quickest and best way is to look at the battery. If your positive cable (+) is going to the frame or body, positive ground. If the negative (-) goes to the frame or body, negative ground. I believe that a MF 35 is a neg ground system but use the check from above.

Wiring 1 farad capacitor?

Connected the house battery in a motor home wrong connected the positive and negative to the positive termimal and the ground to the negative Did I ruin the battery?

No, not the battery. But anything that has a diode, transistor or is in any other way dependent on polarity may be fried... including your alternator.

Which battery cable is positive in a 91 Isuzu Trooper?

Red is positive. If they are both black then the cable that is connected to ground is negative and the other cable is positive.

Where do jumper cables hook up to on the 96 Aurora?

Positive is connected to the positive terminal on the battery and negative is connected to a ground point on the engine away form the battery. Under the Hood, on the passengers side, is a positive terminal with a red plastic cover. Put your ground on a metal part of the engine. No need to pull up the back seat to hook to the battery.

Is the negative battery cable considered as the ground?

The battery cable that is grounded, is connected to the body of the vehicle. Sometimes it is the negative cable & sometimes it is the positive. You need to check which cable is connected to the body of the vehicle.

Do you connect the ground cable first on a car with a positive ground system when installing a battery?

No, the ground cable gets always disconnected first and connected last, regardless of ground polarity.

Why should a car battery's positive terminal be connected first for charging?

Batteries vent Hydrogen gas. You should always connect the positive battery cable first to avoid a spark at the battery that could cause the Hydrogen to explode. The negative cable should never be connected to the battery negative post. It should be connected to another ground area on the engine.

Can you charge a battery in a 2004 buick rendevous while it is still connected in the car?

yes but remember to connect the positive (red) to the positive on the battery, and the negative (black) to a good ground ,away from the battery. this will prevent a spark near the battery and a possible explosion.
