If too much Transmission Fluid is added, or there is something wrong with the pump
If it has an automatic transmission, it is added at the dipstick near the rear of the block on the driver side. if it has a manual transmission there is no dipstick.... climb under the van and add it with a pump.
no dipstick.. it is supposed to be good for 100,000 miles I think. You have to drain it through the pan plug and then use a pump to pump new fluid back in. The place to pump it in is in the other plug slightly above the transmission pan. I think its on the left.
To fill the transmission oil on a Mazda MX-6, locate the transmission dipstick or fill plug, which is typically found on the transmission case. If it has a dipstick, remove it, and use a funnel to add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube. If it has a fill plug, you may need to use a pump to inject the fluid through the plug hole. Always ensure the vehicle is level and check the fluid level according to the manufacturer's specifications.
There is a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. To fill it, there is a plug toward the top of the transmission case where U have to pump the new fluid in till it starts to drain out.. There is no fill or trans. dipstick in top.
The metal transmission screw-in dipstick was removed and lost. This left the transmission fluid filler hole open. Normally water does not enter this location from above if the hood is closed. But since the engine was being washed, the washing fluid entered the transmission and mixed with the transmission fluid. The contamination caused the transmission to begin to cease normal expected hydraulic pressure. Transmission stopped working. Solution: Drain with a pump and refill the transmission fluid and replace the metal dipstick.
You can add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube on an automatic. If it's a standard, there will be a plug on the side of the transmission. Fill it using a suction gun or pump. Fill it until it runs out.
All automatic transmission have a fluid pump. The pump is usually mounted on the front of the transmission, and turns with the engine.
Pour the transmission fluid down the hole the transmission dip stick goes in. You will need a funnel to do it right. WRONG! Do not pour transmission oil into your engine oil compartment! There is no dipstick for transmission oil, at least not on the manual transmission. To fill the transmission, you must pump or pour fluid into the fill hole on the side of the transmission until it dribbles back out.
The power steering pump is by the firewall on pasanger side of car. Fill it with transmission fluid. The cap has a dipstick on it.
The 1989 Pontiac Sunbird with a 5-speed manual transmission does not have a traditional transmission dipstick like automatic transmissions. Instead, to check the transmission fluid level, you need to locate the fill plug on the side of the transmission case. It's typically a hex or square plug that can be removed to check the fluid level; the fluid should be at the level of the fill hole. If necessary, you can add fluid through this hole using a pump or funnel.
There is none. The 2001 Rodeo has a sealed transmission. The only way to change it is to pump out the old fluid and refill it via the route. This is not for the weekend mechanic and I suggest that you have a dealer do it.
The torque convertor uses transmission fluid and is filled by the transmission's internal pump. When you start out with a new convertor, it's a good idea to put a quart of fluid in before installing it on the transmission. When the transmission dipstick shows full, the convertor is also full. An empty torque convertor holds several quarts, depending on the size.
