Disconnecting a wire from a battery would break the circuit. If the battery was powering a bulb, the lamp would go out.

You could accidentally short out the power wire to the radio and blow a fuse. But you really do not have to disconnect the battery terminal. Just remove the fuse for the radio circuit and you will be fine.

renove 2 large Phillips screws on both rear side covers. then remove two 12mm bolts that hold down the seat and then remove hold down across battery with two 10mm bolts and then remove negative wire first from battery then the positive wire and lift out the battery. Congratulations you did it.
