HIDs give the brightest Light. They are factory standard on some high end vehicles, and it is possible to convert most others using an HID Conversion Kit
Upgraded halogen bulbs give more light than standard headlights, and are direct replacements for the original halogen bulbs. Brands include Osram, Philips and Ring.
Standard Halogen bulbs come in different options and if you do not want to install an HID kit, you may want to install some of the upgrade options available. See sources and related links below for more information.
LED bulbs do not give of much light. A handful of cars are using them, but they need a lot of LEDs and a big headlight unit to work properly. It is not possible to upgrade a halogen bulb to LED at the moment - you just cannot get enough LEDs is the space.
LED light bulbs are typically the brightest white light bulbs available on the market. They consume less energy and produce a brighter light compared to traditional incandescent bulbs. Look for LED bulbs with a high lumen output for the brightest white light.

To replace the parking light bulbs, remove the screw on top of the headlight and pop out the clearance light. The parking light bulb will be accessible after this removal.
By removing the locks that hold the headlight assembly in place you can wiggle the headlight assembly out to gain access to the headlight bulbs for replacement.
To change headlight bulbs in a 2005 Ford Escape, first make sure the light switch is in off position and replace the passenger light bulb. Next, get to the driver's side bulb, remove the battery by holding it down, to be able to change the headlight bulb.
To change the light bulb on a Nissan Micra first lift the hood of the car. Find the headlight housings the pull the light bulbs from the ballast. Replace the bulbs.
To change the headlight bulbs on a 1992 Ford Tempo GL, first, open the hood and locate the headlight assembly. Remove the retaining clips or screws securing the assembly, then pull it forward to access the bulb socket. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it, replace the old bulb with a new one, and reassemble everything in reverse order. For the running light bulbs, access them through the headlight assembly or from behind the assembly, and follow a similar process to replace the bulbs.
Remove the headlight assembly to gain access to the bulbs.
