The vent solenoid is a component in a vehicle's evaporative emissions control system. Its primary purpose is to regulate the flow of fuel vapors from the fuel tank to the engine, preventing the release of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. By opening and closing at specific times, the vent solenoid helps maintain proper pressure in the fuel system and ensures efficient combustion. This contributes to both environmental protection and optimal engine performance.

you have to be more specific but a gas tank vent solenoid is usually underneath the vehicle by the tank. The charcoal canister vent solenoid is on the charcoal canister in the engine compartment. Both are replaced with a screwdriver or sockets. (Charcoal Canister and Vent/Purge Solenoid on this vehicle are located in front of the gas tank. Mounted to the gas tank and frame under the drivers door.)

The EVAP vent solenoid on a 2006 GMC Sierra is on the driver's side of the vehicle. It is on a bracket next to the gas tank.
The evap purge solenoid is located on the top of the engine. The evap vent solenoid is located in the rear drivers side wheel well, attached to the charcoal canister.
You probably replaces the purge solenoid on the intake, you want the vent solenoid at the canister.
