its the needle valve inside the injector opening and closing
I get knocking & ping noise coming from the fuel injectors
Could be lots of things, one that isn't thougt of is a fuel injector sticking. Can of injector cleaner can't hurt anything.
i was told by a Chevy serviceman that the ticking noise was coming from the fuel injectors firing.but to me it sounded more like lifters tapping or floating.
The fuel injectors make the ticking noise you hear at startup, especially when the engine is cold (colder temperatures).
the ticking noise is likely the fuel injectors, which you probably didn't notice before because you weren't looking for anything wrong.
low or no fuel pressure clogged injector no pulse signal coming from fuel compter
The check engine light is not related to the oil or the transmission fluid systems. It is related to fuel control, computer, emmissions control systems. The faint ticking you hear may just be the normal noise coming from the fuel injectors. All fuel injectors make some kind of ticking noise while they operate. I would say, if the check engine light has anything to do with the services performed, it would almost have to be a simple connector that may have been unplugged to move a wire out of the way, and then forgotten. Otherwise, I believe it would have to be a coincidence. Even if the ticking noise is a lifter in te engine, that still would not cause a check engine, and would not be the fault of someone changing the oil, as long as the oil is full.
If its gasoline it would be a problem in your head causing the piston to slap against the cylinder walls. If its a diesel engine then the knocking is caused by the .001 to .002 second delay between the fuel injector closing and the compression/combustion of the fuel
you could add gas treatment liquid to your gas tank or you could buy the fuel injector cleaner tool and run the system with fuel injector cleaner which is alot faster. other then tht you could take each fuel injector out and spray carb clener through the fuel injector until you see nice spread out spray coming out.
is the noise coming from the new fuel pump (in the tank)? if so the new fuel pump is bad
Pop the bleeder and cycle the pump until only pure fuel is coming out.
Usually, the price will dictate what is the best injector cleaner. "Injector cleaner" is misleading since most "cleaners" you buy do not clean but rather prevent more buildup in the injector tip. An auto shop does have a cleaner though where the fuel system is disabled and the car ran on a bottle for 15 minutes. Knocking and tapping differences are is the question of the century. A tapping noise will come from injectors or the valvetrain in general and is much more subtle than a knocking noise which usually is much louder cam or crankshaft noise indicating failed bearings.
