is the noise coming from the new fuel pump (in the tank)? if so the new fuel pump is bad
Your question is too broad. Expand on it a bit. When does it make the grinding nose, right after startup, after it's been running a hile, etc. where does the noise seem to originate from?
I had a similar problem with my 96 classic. I took it to a couple of different mechanics and none of them found a real mechanical issue with it. But one of them did tell me that as these jeep engines age they need better fuel or else they make noise. So he recommended that i use a higher grade octane. It seemed to fix the problem. As gas prices rose i would only use the high grade every now and then, the grinding noise on acceleration still happened but not nearly as frequent.
okay why would you ask this queshtons i dont know what they are thinking!

A computer tower may make a surging noise rather than a constant humming noise if the case's screws are not properly tightened. Another reason for such a surging noise is the imminent failure of a fan.
What would cause a grinding noise after a tire is replaced and the brakes are not worn?
your barrins in the wheels
Yes they can make a grinding noise, if they are bad.
It sounds like it could be a rust build up on the backing plate. best to have it checked out.
Normally a rusty rotor would not make a grinding noise. A grinding noise from the brakes usually indicated that the pads or shoes are worn down.
The clutch bearing or " throw out" bearing is going bad and will need to be replaced, take this opportunity to change the clutch as well.
Erm yes that should be your brake pads, you should get them replaced quick or the damage will be even worse! Or Could be your engine, so i would get them both replaced promptly.
most grinding noises that come from turning is usually a cv axle that needs to be replaced. Can also be a bad wheel bearing. If you hear the grinding when turning to the right then the left front wheel bearing is bad.
I would guess that it is the wheel bearing. is it a grumbling sound or an all out grinding? If it is or was a grumbling sound and has turned into a grinding it is probably the wheel bearing.
I had a similar experience with my Windstar - lots of pad material left, but still grinding after new pads & shoes. Turns out the rotors were bad. :( Btw, I just replaced the rotors without finding out if a simple turning would have eliminated the grinding.
bad rotors
Its kind of a grinding screeching metal on metal noise.
