According to the 1996 Ford Ranger Owner Guide ( for North America )
Motorcraft MERCON automatic Transmission Fluid is used in the 5 speed
manual transmission
* approximately 2.8 U.S. quarts *
Where the transmission dipstick is located which is near the battery... Kinda under it.
Dot 3
The red dip stick is where u pour it in same place its kinda weird
If it is a standard transmission you have a hydraulic clutch and on the drivers side , under the hood you will se the windshield wiper linkage just below the windshield . There is a fluid reservoire under it . It is kind of tuff to get to . But it has a black cap and is kinda tucked in.
your alero has a sealed transmission, kinda wierd if you are used to regularly checking your fluids. on this car you just take it in for service. on my 2004 they recommended service every 50,000 miles
Use only genuine Honda ATF DW-1 and nothing else. Do not use any substitute or you will regret it.
That would be a 4L60E transmission.
Depends on the manufacturer. HEROs require their own approved oil which will work in all other diaphragm pumts, many will run on transmission fluid.
What kinda does it take
Mercon 3 or equivalent Mercon 5 would be ok too. Just make sure when you change it that red comes out if so then trans fluid is the replacement oil. Kinda weird huh. Typically manuals hold gear oil??? Leave it to ford to change it all up.
I'm only 17 and I'm a DIY kinda guys but I was told to go to the Honda dealer ship and buy it. I did and it is all good. good luck!
A 1993 acura integra gsr transmission.. Wat kinda question is that?
