To remove the front brake calipers from a 2008 Mercury Mariner, first, ensure the vehicle is on a stable surface and secure it with wheel chocks. Lift the front of the vehicle and remove the wheel to access the caliper. Next, use a socket wrench to remove the caliper mounting bolts, then carefully slide the caliper off the brake rotor. Support the caliper with a bungee cord or wire to avoid strain on the brake line while you work on the brake pads or rotor.
To remove the front axle nut on a 2006 Mercury Mariner, you will need a 32mm socket wrench. Make sure to use a breaker bar if the nut is tightly secured, as it can be torqued to a high specification. Always ensure the vehicle is properly supported before attempting any repairs.
7mm Allen wrench
Torx are almost never used on calipers. I think you will find a 7mm Allen key is needed for that year Mercury. Hard to see as it is covered by a rubber cup.
It's time for scheduled maintenance. Consult the owners manual.
whatever one fits, some are torx..
9mm hex socket bit
To remove the calipers on a 1994 Mercury Topaz, start by safely lifting and securing the vehicle on jack stands. Remove the wheel lug nuts and take off the wheel. Next, locate the caliper bolts—typically there are two—remove them using the appropriate socket or wrench. Once the bolts are removed, slide the caliper off the brake rotor, and be careful to support it to avoid straining the brake line.
