On the 2002 Saturn L300, the transmission dipstick is located near the back of the engine compartment, typically on the driver's side. It is usually positioned close to the transmission itself and may be labeled for easy identification. To check the transmission fluid level, ensure the engine is running and the vehicle is in park before pulling the dipstick out.

To add transmission fluid to a Saturn L300, locate the transmission dipstick tube, which is typically near the back of the engine compartment. Remove the dipstick, and use a funnel to pour the appropriate type of transmission fluid into the tube. Be sure to check the fluid level with the dipstick after adding fluid to ensure it's at the correct level, and only add fluid gradually. Always consult your owner's manual for specific fluid types and capacities.
You can not check the transmission fluid on the 2002 L200 or L300, due to this transmission is a sealed transmission. I bought my L200 new and this is one of the new transmissions Saturn was using from Germany. My question at this point is when does the transmission fluid need to be change. Mine has 100k miles plus. I have a chiltons manual on this particular model and this manual gives very ggod directions on how to change the fluid, filter etc. But when. Is 100k miles time to change the fluid and filter. Now I know where to get this answer, call our local Saturn dealer and ask the question.
It just cost me $735 from a mechanic I have always trusted. I have a 2001 L300.
