on my 94 Z-71, the stop lamp switch was bad, on the lower steering column, and this switch is what gives the CC (cruise control) the signal to disengage. So in effect, when you depress the brake pedal, the CC assumes u are slowing down on an incline or some other natural deccelerant, and engages the accelerate function to compensate. check to see that your stop lamps are functioning, if not, this COULD be your problem, or something in this line of the system.

Should you use cruise control in the rain?

No , absolutely not ( if you hit a puddle , which will slow the car down , the cruise control willtry to accelerate the car to maintain the set speed )It's not recommended to use the cruise control in the rain. Normally, you use the cruise control on the highways. When it's raining you need complete control on the car and be fully alert.( NO ) if you hit a puddle that slows the car down then the cruise control will accelerate the carbetter not it could cause the car to accelerate at the wrong time and cause loss of control

To use the cruise control on the PT Cruiser, turn the cruise control on in the steering wheel. Accelerate to the desired speed and push in the end of the left turn signal knob. The cruise control should then control the speed. To take the car out of cruise control, a person can tap the brake.

How to engage peugeot 406 cruise control?

you have to be above 25mph. there is a button by the light dimmer that has to pressed to turn on the cruise system then move the stalk control down to set current speed. You can then increase speed by moving the control up, decrease by moving thecontrol down and disengage by pulling towards you.Moving the control up again will return you to the previously set speed providing you are over 25mph. If you cannot get the cruise to work and the light is 'on' on the master switch check that the switches on the clutch and brake (for a manual car, brake only for auto) have not moved away from there mounts on the pedal. Mine had slipped back so they did not contact the brake pedal when it was fully released. Touching the brake or clutch pedal will disengage the system.
