The crank sensor is located at the left front of the engine
if the crank sensor is bad it does not tell the computer that the crank is turning it will not fire up the engine.
The crank sensor on a 96 Mitsubishi Mirage is located on the bottom of the engine, near the oil filter. It constantly monitors the crankshaft and updates the vehicle's computer.
by the harmonic balancer
yes same thing
try crank position sensor and cam shaft sensor
In the underside on the far left
Passneger side of the bell housing.
You must know the engine, such as 4.2liter
there isn't one ( 96 it start that year) you only have a cam sensor in the base of the distributor.
It should be at the bottom front of the engine by the timing cover.
on your oil pan, close to the crankshaft pully. mine had one bolt (1996) Dont worry, no oil will come out. These ussually get dirty and not work well. I would suggest removing and cleaning up and make sure the magnet is clean, and reinstall before buying a new one. sorry but this is wrong you do not have a crank positioning sensor on a 93 geo metro and if they do i have not found one on mine yet 96 was the first year for them to put a crank sensor on the oil pan
