For the Škoda Octavia, the fuse for the daytime running lights (DRLs) is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. You can refer to the owner's manual for the exact fuse number and specification, as it may vary by model year. Generally, the fuse for the DRLs is marked clearly in the fuse box diagram. If you're having issues with the lights, checking and replacing the fuse may be a good first step.

Are your brake lights out - usually it's a fuse for the brake lights.
The fuse box is located under the hood next to the battery.
The new Polo (2011) does not have "Daytime driving lights". It is fitted with "Permanent driving lights". The lights on cars with Daytime running lights can be switched off by using one of the stalks on the steering wheel, or by removing a fuse (daytime driving lights are on a seperate light circuit) Permanent driving lights cannot be switched off. If hte fuse is removed it will disable your headlights and backlights altogether. The only way to disable it is to remove the rotary light switch and cover the pin marked "TFL"
The fuse is blown. They put the dash lights and tail lights on the same fuse so that if you are driving at night the absence of the dash lights will be made relevent to you in order to get your tail lights fixed.
The parking brake may be on or the switch is broken on the brake.
You should be able to pull the fuse for the daytime running lights to disable them. Probably located in the fuse panel under the hood. There should be a picture on the inside of the lid which tells you which fuse is which.
