sheikh mohammed invented it
They can be, and are on some turbo charged engines.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I checked www.motorcraft.com ( all 3 engines ) and it does not list a MAP sensor
www.motorcraft.com does not list a MAP sensor for the 4.2 L V6 , 4.6 L or 5.4 L V8 engines for a 2003 F150 , they list an air mass sensor which I assume is the MAF sensor
It does not have one, only fuel injected engines have one.
The 2.0L engines do not have a map sensor. The ECU meters intake air through the mass air flow sensor to calculate how much fuel to inject. The 1.8L engines should have a similar setup installed on them but I dont deal in those very often. Hope this helps.
WWW.MOTORCRAFT.COM shows remanufactured AIR MASS SENSORS ( mass air flow sensors ) for the 3 available engines on your 1993 Ranger , there are no listings for a MAP sensor
It uses a MAP sensor. It uses a MAP sensor.
www. motorcraft. com (no spaces) does not list a MAP sensor for any of the available engines in a 1993 Ranger . It lists AIR MASS SENSOR for each engine , I'm assuming that is the MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR which should be mounted near the air filter housing
a map sensor is a manifold absolute pressure sensor.
if it has a 3.3 there is no map sensor
That year did not have a MAP sensor.
