Are the lamps OK? It's fairly inexpensive to replace them. If replacing the lams doesn't help, and the dimmer switch is also the turn signal/cruise/headlight on and off switch, you probably have to replace the entire switch. It's a pretty direct job that you can do yourself. I replaced mine a couple of years ago. At that time, the switch was about a $60 part. You'll need the proper size Torx wrench to get the shroud around the steering column off. After that, it's just a matter of a couple of screws and a couple of electrical connectors. NOTE: take a good look at where the electrical connectors sit and how the wiring is routed. If you don't get them back in the same place, you won't be able to get the switch seated correctly. You might also have a rattle.

If your headlights are hazed over like mine were (I've since replaced the entire headlight assemblies ... cheap on Ebay) you'll want to buy lamps that are brighter than the factory recommended ones.

you may have a bad relay. If both of them are out, that is probably the relay for the high beams or it could also be a fuse.

Pulling the turn signal switch toward you should switch the lights to the low beams. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the switch, which means replacing the entire turn signal stalk.
