sticky valve most likely. give it an oil change and throw some lucas oil conditioner in there
piston tapping, change your oil from 10 30 w to 5 30 w, that fixed my tapping sound. when the engine warms up it goes away?
Is it a lifter ticking?
A tapping noise when your engine warms up could indicate several potential issues, such as low oil levels or oil viscosity that is too thin, leading to insufficient lubrication of engine components. It might also be a sign of valve lifter problems, worn bearings, or other internal engine wear. If the noise persists, it’s advisable to have the engine inspected by a mechanic to prevent further damage. Regular maintenance and oil changes can help reduce the likelihood of such issues.
You have to locate the source of the noise then repost your findings.
this is caused from piston to cyl wall clearance when engine warms up the pistons exspand and the noise is less. DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT
it may be an exhaust manifold gasket. when they are bad, they make a tapping soud til it heats up and semi-seals itself. it's one thing to have checked.
Sounds like a fan belt. Have it checked. or an sai motor
sounds like the right front motor mount .i replaced mine and the clunking sound went away
Valves tapping?
Chev has a law suit on their small blocks from piston slap. Take your vehicle to a real DEALER and have them check the recal against your VIN #. This is a big problem for Chevy... the pistons are cam ground (not round) and expand to a circle in the bore as she warms up. The noise I suspect you are hearing is the famous piston slap that these units are getting known for. Go on some Cheby forums and I am sure you will find discussions on this issue. Hope that helps you --
When your motor warms up your oil, gasoline, and transmission fluid; it helps your motor run free
