The proper hand position on the steering wheel used to be 10 and 2 but it has changed and is now 9 and 3. I am not 100% why it changed but I believe it changed so you could have a better grip on the steering wheel.

Part of the reason for the change was to have your arms out of the way of the airbag.

How do you check steering straight ahead position during steering fixing?

To check the steering straight-ahead position during steering fixing, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the wheels are pointed straight. Then, visually inspect the steering wheel to see if it is centered relative to the dashboard or other fixed reference points. Additionally, you can take the vehicle for a short drive to confirm that it tracks straight without pulling to one side, which indicates proper alignment. If adjustments are needed, make sure to recalibrate the steering wheel position accordingly.
