If your 350 Turbo transmission is trying to shift into third gear but won't, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include low Transmission Fluid levels, a faulty governor, or issues with the valve body. Additionally, a malfunctioning shift linkage or a worn-out clutch pack could prevent the transmission from engaging third gear. It's advisable to have a professional mechanic diagnose the issue for an accurate solution.
If your turbo 350 won't shift out of first gear, it could indicate a frozen transmission gear. You should first check to ensure the fluid levels are in the right place.
A Turbo 350 transmission will not go into park if the shift lever is out of alignment. There is an adjustment point on the side of the transmission where each gear position can be set for optimal shifting.
my first question to you would be, did it ever hit 3rd gear with the shift kit? and then, who put the shift kit in? is it possible something could have been put back together wrong, or left out?
yes
You would need a ring gear for an automatic.
You can purchase a shift kit that will increase the pressure.
The 700 has a lower first gear, and, with the overdrive will give better fuel economy. The 350 is a little stronger, and cheaper.
yes it is a 350 turbo trans is always just that a turbo 350, almost all Chevy parts are interchangeable, it is the same transmission and chances are they both have the same engine most v8 gm be it car or truck use similar drive train unless its 4x4 than it wont work in a car
If your 350 Turbo transmission isn't shifting out of low gear, it could be due to a few potential issues. Check the transmission fluid level and condition, as low or dirty fluid can affect shifting. Additionally, inspect the vacuum modulator, as a malfunctioning modulator can prevent proper shifting. Lastly, consider the possibility of internal transmission problems or a faulty governor that may require professional diagnosis and repair.
may be your vacuum modulator on your transmission or could be a straight up bad transmission. i ended up replacing mine for that same reason
Probably about 2.73-1.
clutch packs are bad time for rebuild
