Why would a 1996 Plymouth Breeze with a 5 speed manual transmission get stuck in 3rd gear When try to shift to any other gear it feels loose and won't catch How can this be repaired?

It has two busted gears, Either get a transaxel rebuild kit and do it yourself, Or get a new transaxel. alot cheaper to do it yourself.
