Will your transmission stop slipping if you change the speed sensor?

No. A slipping transmission is caused by a low fluid level, or failure of friction parts inside the transmission. Though a failing Vehicle Speed Sensor(VSS) can cause symptoms that can make it appear that the transmission is slipping, even though it is not.

How do you stop a transmission from slipping on a 1997 crown vic with 76000miles?

My advice would be to have the transmission fluid and filter changed. If that does not correct the problem you need to have the transmission rebuilt by a professional.

The car will do fine until I stop at a street light then when the light changes I hit the gas and the car will just roll no matter how far I push the gas. Eventually the car will go like it should.?

Check transmission fluid, if it is ok, transmission is probably slipping.

At what mileage would you stop changing transmission oil you have a 1996 Chevy caviler with 154000 miles on it and you have changed the fluid on it every year should you flush the trans too?

As long as you keep the car, then keep chaging the fluid. Do not flush the transmission on a car with this many miles, just chage the fluid.

When you come to a stop in a 1995 Olds Achieva the transmission makes a thud and sometimes slips when you go to move?

Sounds like it is downshifting roughly and slipping. First check the trans fluid on the dipstick. If it looks dark brown or black, that is bad. It will need a filter and fluid change. But realize that once a transmission get's to the point of having dark colored fluid(should be red or deep red), it is a gamble changing the fluid as to whether it will ever move again. Sometimes it will solve the problem and other times, it will seal the deal as far as it moving anymore. Good luck.

Why does car jerk when you accelerate from a stop?

When stopped at stop sign or stop light you step on the gas pedal of your 95 Chevy lumina and it sounds like it is reving up and then when the speddometer reches 20 it runs fine what's wrong?

It sounds like your transmission is slipping. Check the transmission fluid. It should be within the allowable range, and blood red. If it's brown or smells burnt, you may have transmission issues.
