not usually, sometimes you get lucky and it will for a while. most of the time if a transmission has started to slip the damage is already done.
Changing your transmission filter will help in improving the slipping under load.
check the transmission fluid first
No. A slipping transmission is caused by a low fluid level, or failure of friction parts inside the transmission. Though a failing Vehicle Speed Sensor(VSS) can cause symptoms that can make it appear that the transmission is slipping, even though it is not.
My advice would be to have the transmission fluid and filter changed. If that does not correct the problem you need to have the transmission rebuilt by a professional.
There are many reasons. Take it to a trans shop.
try changing the map sensor, that was the problem on mine.
Weak transmission pump? Try changing fluid and filter
Check transmission fluid, if it is ok, transmission is probably slipping.
As long as you keep the car, then keep chaging the fluid. Do not flush the transmission on a car with this many miles, just chage the fluid.
Sounds like it is downshifting roughly and slipping. First check the trans fluid on the dipstick. If it looks dark brown or black, that is bad. It will need a filter and fluid change. But realize that once a transmission get's to the point of having dark colored fluid(should be red or deep red), it is a gamble changing the fluid as to whether it will ever move again. Sometimes it will solve the problem and other times, it will seal the deal as far as it moving anymore. Good luck.
low transmission fluid clogged fluid filter
It sounds like your transmission is slipping. Check the transmission fluid. It should be within the allowable range, and blood red. If it's brown or smells burnt, you may have transmission issues.
