the park tab is bent. it is a thick piece of metal that must be bent back slightly toward the wiper motor with a hammer or plyers.
I assume this issue started when there was snow/ice on the windshield?
first remove wiper arms from vehicle next with ignition on, turn wipers on then off. the wiper motor will stop at the down position. replace wiper arms onto shaft ,in the correct down position where you want them. now with ignition on, try wipers again,to check if in the stop position you want them.
To adjust the windshield wipers on a 2014 Chevy Cruze LT to stop in the correct down position, first turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine. Then, turn the wipers on to their highest setting and then back to the "Off" position. This should reset the wiper motor, allowing it to find the proper resting position. If the wipers still do not stop correctly, you may need to remove the wiper arms and reposition them manually.
A bad pulse board or window wiper motor can cause your wipers to stay in the "up" position.
wiper motor bout worn out. my 1998 merc does the same. replace ya wiper motor.
bad parking relay in motor
The car wipers should not stay up but return to their original position. The wipers will stay up if the wiper motor, the wiper controller and the wiper linkage are faulty.
why is it after I hooked up the linkage for my wipers the wipers stay in the upright position after I turn them off.
the windsheild wiper motor clutch/windlatch is broken
When you turn off your windshield wipers, they stop in their parked position, which is typically designed to be at the bottom of the windshield. However, if they stop in the middle, it may indicate a malfunction in the wiper motor or control system. Additionally, if the wipers are turned off while they are in motion, they can sometimes come to rest in an unintended position due to inertia or a failure in the stop mechanism. Regular maintenance can help prevent such issues.
replace the wiper motor
1. Turn on the rear windshield wipers. 2. Stop the wiper manually as it crosses the center of the window. 3. Lift the wiper blade up on the hinge as you would a front blade (this should de-activate the wiper mechanism and stop movement). 4. Change wiper blade. 5. Return blade to original position in which it was stopped. 6. Turn the wipers off then on.
the module is bad on the wipper motor you might have to get the whole moter assy.
